My wife had an accident 7 months ago in which she fractured her spine, they found after an CT scan 3 previous fractures. She now cannot sit, stand or walk for more than a few minutes and is unable to work. Her employer Bet 365, had Income protection insurance which meant that she would be covered up to 2 years in case of inability to work. She also has severe Angina, Uveitis, and Cataracts, which means her vision is severly limited, She asked for an update of her claim and 4 dayd later recieved a letter of refusal. It seems to me that these Income protection policies are just a money making idea from the Insurance companies, and with the costs of Employment Tribunals now £400 to $1200, it makes it very difficult, if not impossible for people to appeal against refusals. As most call centers are Non-Union, Ins companies target them knowing that they are big cash cows,and the actual companies dont actually care about their staff, as there are plenty more waiting. Its time that these call centers were regulated, or that at least they become more unionised.

Well considering my doctor took me off my Codeine and Paracetamol I don’t feel too bad. I suppose it’s the calm before the storm!,
